The soundtrack on PS3 Madden 10 is another facet that will get hardcore gamers going. Soundtracks have become synonymous with the games themselves, especially the Madden series. PS3 Madden 10's soundtrack brings the right level of intensity, as well as a great mix of newer and older songs ("older" being a relative term here, of course). One gander at the song lineup should induce and impress: "Can't C Me" by 2Pac, "Heads are Gonna Roll" by Airbourne, "Them Bones" by Alice in Chains, "Created a Monster" by B.o.B, "Revolution" by Bang Camaro, "Sabotage" by Beastie Boys, "Paranoid" by Black Sabbath, "Get 'Em Up" by Cypress Hill, "Unsung" by Helmet, "Aces High" by Iron Maiden, "Painkiller" by Judas Priest, "I Am the Bullgod" by Kid Rock, "Reckoning" by Killswitch Engage, "Blind" by Korn, "Divinations" by Mastodon, "Hate Me Now" by Nas featuring Puff Daddy, "Breed" by Nirvana, "Walk" by Pantera, "Shut 'Em Down" by Public Enemy, "Guerrilla Radio" by Rage Against the Machine, "Gaia Bleeds (Make Way for Man)" by Set Your Goals, "Duality" by Slipknot, "Sugar" by System of a Down, "Before I Die" by The Vanity Plan," and "Cheah Beah" by Young Dre The Truth. Looks like you need a visit back in time, to the embryonic days of sports video games, if you have your doubts about PS3 Madden 10. Yeah, it may be a little much to rave about a current day game at the expense of the earliest football video games. After viewing the earliest football video games, however, you'll understand why PS3 Madden 10 is such an achievement. It makes sense that at the beginning of the video game console revolution, there was a huge demand for football video games. Only thing was, video game consoles and cartridges didn't have the capabilities to match the needs of the typical hardcore gamer, so everyone had to take what they could get. "All the excitement" of the real thing, the game publishers crowed back then. And since it was the only game in town, this is what passed for the gridiron. The football players look like blocky little robots. That's just a harsh fact. You can tell by the image that the game wasn't much, but that's only the half of it. This one, like all early games, suffered from the "blinking graphics" syndrome, due to low programming capacity. The "crowd" cheering sounded closer to a car running over gravel. Things were so limited that a scrolling screen was out of the question. Within a couple years, things would pick up slightly, with a competing console developing a football video game. It certainly was an improvement, with improved graphics, sound, and gameplay. But it was still nothing too impressive.
That one caused a huge sensation upon its arrival to the video game world, and while it set a (slightly) higher standard, this wasn't the foundation for football video games to be built on. That wouldn't come until several years down the line. This one was a big innovation for football video games, and has fans who still swear by it. For a long time, it was the gold standard by which football video games were held. Makes sense that it was so revered by the hardcore gamer - it really was the first true attempt to recreate the NFL. Football video games went to the next level with that one, due to the much needed upgrades. Judging by its online revival, people still enjoy it today in small doses. Yet, it's still a poor man's PS3 Madden 10. Once you've viewed all the other games, have a gander at PS3 Madden 10.
As you can see, football video games have evolved exponentially since their first appearance. No need to keep bagging on the old stuff. No need to beat a dead horse. Those games, while archaic, got us to where we are today, and for that, they deserve their place in the video game hall of fame (though that first one may be better off in "video game hall of shame.") PS3 Madden 10 is in a whole different stratosphere than its predecessors, and for that, hardcore gamers have every reason to be stoked. And of course, the critics are equally enthusiastic about PS3 Madden 10, which is even more good news for fans of the franchise. Anytime you read a PS3 Madden 10 review, you'll see things like "realistic and enjoyable." EA Sports has sacked all the competition with PS3 Madden 10, to nobody's surprise.
There's no debating it - PS3 Madden 10 is an all-time great sports video game. Not to disparage the other PlayStation sports video games - they're all pretty excellent in their own right, but PS3 Madden rules the playing field. For many, this is the PlayStation football game by which all others are measured. This is the game for the real men, not just the little kids, when you go toe-to-toe for some serious money.
Now, PlayStation Madden 10 fans can go toe-to-toe and play video games for money. The victory - and your opponent's cash - will be in your hands, once you know the score in PS3 Madden 10.
